causes a small copper reed to vibrate to the pitch that is stamped above that hole. If you hum into the hole, instead of blowing, the reed will vibrate just the same. The reed will always vibrate to the true pitch. If you aren’t humming in tune with the same pitch, the combination of pitches will sound sour. As you adjust the pitch of your voice, the sound will eventually become sweet and resonant. When the two pitches are out of tune you will hear a series of vibrating sound waves. As you
