Once you know how synthetics are created, it’s easy to see why some of these fabrics even share the same

alligator-skin accessories. First of all, many people just find it more politically correct (that’s for you to decide), and second, real exotics are expensive. Blowing the bank on one or two items is not cheap or chic; it’s simply a bad move. As far as fake fur goes, there are such good options out there now—or go green and buy a vintage piece of fur. If you’re comfortable wearing the real thing, a vintage jacket or vest will be less than half the cost of a new garment, and you’re aiding in the

siren lips. Remember: A bad hairstyle can be brushed out or washed down the drain; horrid makeup can be taken off with a gentle cleanser and a good washcloth. But movie-star style does not happen by accident. Your hair and makeup may be trial and error now, but soon—with the help of history—your glamorous look will be tried and true. HOW TO GET A GREAT HAIRCUT Here’s a hard truth: If you have a haircut that’s not working for you, it’s either your fault or the hairstylist’s fault. Period.
